Instagram Notes is a new feature that allows users to create short posts that appear beneath their profile picture and in the direct message section on the Instagram app.

But is hiding notes possible?

Whether you want to hide a person's notes, mute notes from a specific Instagram account, or just keep your notes among close friends, there are a few steps you can take.

Mute Notes From Specific Users

You can mute another person's notes by following the steps below.

Visit the Instagram profile that you wish to mute.

Click the Following button.

From the drop down menu, tap Mute.

Confirm your selection.

Alternatively, you can long-press their note in your chat list and select the Mute option.

You can unmute notes by following the steps above.

Control Who Sees Your Notes

There are a few ways you can control which followers see your notes on Instagram.

Close Friends List

The first method is by using the Close Friends option when you share notes, so that only a select group can access your notes.

Restrict A User

You can restrict a specific user from their profile, so that they lose access to certain features on your profile. This is a good way to limit content without blocking or unfollowing someone.

You can restrict a user by following the steps below:

Visit the user's profile.

Tap the Following button to bring up the drop down menu.

Tap Restrict.

Confirm the restriction.

Remove The Follower

You can also outright remove the follower by opening your Followers menu and searching for the user.

Tap Remove to the right of the username.

They will no longer be able to see your future notes.

Block The Follower

If you don't want any interaction with the user, you can block them by following the steps below:

Visit the user profile.

Tap the three dots on the top right.

Tap Block.
