How To Find A WhatsApp Group Link
To share a WhatsApp group with others, you'll need to obtain the group link. You can find this on both the mobile app and desktop site.
On Desktop
Open the group of your choice.
Click the three stacked dots on the top right corner and select Group Info.
From the group info screen, scroll down and click Invite to the group via link.
From here, click Copy Link.
The WhatsApp group link should be in the following format:
https://chat.whatsapp.com/123basdkljaf123
On Mobile
- Open the group of your choice.
- Tap the group name at the top.
- Scroll down and tap Invite to the group via link.
- Tap Copy Link
The WhatsApp group link should be in the following format:
https://chat.whatsapp.com/123basdkljaf123
How To Find A WhatsApp Channel Link
To create a link for a WhatsApp channel, follow the instructions below.
On Desktop
Open the channel of your choice.
Click the three stacked dots on the top right corner and select Channel Info.
Below the channel name, click Copy Link.
The WhatsApp channel link should be in the following format:
https://whatsapp.com/channel/12345asdlfkjasdb
On Mobile
- Open the channel of your choice.
- Tap the channel name to open the Channel Info page.
- Below the name, tap Share. Then tap Copy Link.
IMPORTANT: When obtaining a channel link via mobile, be sure to remove any extraneous information copied alongside the URL, like invitation text.
The WhatsApp channel link should be in the following format:
https://whatsapp.com/channel/12345asdlfkjasdb
How To Find A WhatsApp Message/Post Link
Did you know that you can share a link to a specific message within a WhatsApp channel chat? Follow the instructions below for either desktop or mobile.
On Desktop
- Navigate to the message you wish to share. Hover over and click the down arrow on the top right corner.
- Click Copy Link
The WhatsApp message link should be in the following format:
https://whatsapp.com/channel/123123G3LdQLsFibUk3O/123
IMPORTANT: This is NOT the same as a general channel link. The message link will include the channel link along with additional characters after the / symbol.
On Mobile
- Navigate to the message you wish to share.
- Long press on the message and tap Copy Link [NOT Copy message - that will only copy the message content].
The WhatsApp message link should be in the following format:
https://whatsapp.com/channel/1231235G3LdQLsFibUk3O/123
IMPORTANT: This is NOT the same as a general channel link. The message link will include the channel link along with additional characters after the / symbol.
