Who Unfollowed Me On Twitter? | 3 Methods For Tracking Your Followers
|
September 9th, 2025 by Terri Pinyerd

Now that Twitter (X) is under new management, many of the older methods of tracking who unfollowed you on Twitter no longer work. Don’t worry though, you can still keep track of missing followers using a few different methods.

How To Check Your Follower List

The first method is to simply check your followers list to see if a particular username is missing. You can do this on either the desktop site or mobile app.

Visit your profile page and click # Followers beneath your bio.

It will automatically direct you to the Verified Followers tab, so click the regular Followers tab to the right.

From here you’ll see a full list of every user who follows you.

There’s no search feature for the followers list, though, so if you scroll for a while and still don’t see the user you’re looking for, your best bet is to search up their username directly.

If they follow you, you’ll see a white Follow Back button on their profile.

If they don’t follow you, the button will just say Follow.

How To Check Unfollows Using Analytics

If you’re just curious about the number of users who unfollowed you recently, you can check this by accessing your Twitter analytics dashboard.

Keep in mind that Twitter analytics are currently a Premium-only feature, so if you’re not subscribed you won’t be able to access them.

  • First, open Twitter analytics here

  • From your dashboard, scroll down.

  • Check the column titled New Followers next to each date.

  • If people unfollowed you, you’ll see a negative number.

Using Unfollower Trackers

The most effective method is using unfollower trackers. These are paid third party sites that connect to your Twitter account and use Twitter’s API to show you a list of specific users who unfollowed you.

While most of the older Twitter unfollower trackers were shut down after Twitter began charging for API access, there are still a few options that have been officially approved by the platform.

Circleboom

Circleboom is an official partner with Twitter (X), so it’s by far the most convenient and secure option.

To get started, you first need to connect your Twitter (X) account through Circleboom.

Once you click connect, you’ll receive a popup confirmation. Click Connect to be redirected.

From here, click Authorize.

You’ll be redirected to Circleboom where you’ll see a dashboard showing you a list of users who either unfollowed you OR who aren’t following you back.

The free version is limited, so you’ll have to upgrade to the Pro plan at $24/month to get full access to the entire list.

Fedica (WhoUnfollowedMe / Followerwonk)

Another popular option is Fedica, which recently acquired both WhoUnfollowedMe and Followerwonk.

For this service you’ll need to be subscribed to their GROW plan at $24/month in order to view your unfollower analytics.

To get started, you’ll first need to register for a free account.

Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be prompted to connect your Twitter (X) account.

Click the Connect button again.

Click Authorize App.

Input a name, then click Start Now.

Click Get Started.

Scroll down to Follower Tracking Tools and under Track Followers, click Learn More.

Are Unfollower Trackers Safe To Use?

Circleboom and Fedica are both approved Twitter (X) partners, so they’re vetted and safe to use. If you opt for alternative third party trackers, be careful - most of them require linking your Twitter account to them, so they’ll have access to your account and be able to edit your information on your behalf.

Which Unfollower Tracker Is The Best?

They each have their pros and cons, as well as additional features that you might find useful.

They’re both Twitter management tools, which means you can create and schedule posts from their platform, engage with users, and track analytics.

They both cost the same: $24/month.

Circleboom states that they can only track unfollowers for accounts with fewer than 10,000 followers, but Fedica doesn’t list this disclaimer so it’s unclear if the limitation is API-based or just a plan limitation.

Fedica allows you to manage multiple social media platforms, while Circleboom is just for Twitter.

Since the pricing is identical, and they both offer the same abilities when it comes to tracking Twitter unfollowers, consider whether any of their additional features suit your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I see who unfollowed me on Twitter?

You can use an unfollower tracker like Circleboom or Fedica to see the names of specific users who unfollowed you, or you can check your analytics to see the number of unfollowers. Alternatively you can manually open your follower list to see if a specific user is missing.

Can people see who you unfollow on Twitter?

No, the only way someone can tell if you unfollowed another user on Twitter is if they saw them on your Following list in the past, and notice that they’re not there in the present. No one gets notified when you unfollow someone on Twitter.

Is there an app that tells you if someone unfollows you?

Do you have to pay for Circleboom?

You can access certain features for free, including limited insight into recent Twitter unfollowers, but to see the full dashboard and use all of their features you need to subscribe. The cheapest plan starts at $13/month, but to track Twitter unfollowers you’ll need the Pro plan which costs $24/month.
