We will make every effort to alert you about screenshots taken in your Secret Chats, but it may still be possible to bypass such notifications and take screenshots silently. We advise to share sensitive information only with people you trust. After all, nobody can stop a person from taking a picture of their screen with a different device or an old school camera."

While Telegram ensures the security of Secret Chats with end to end encryption, it's always possible for users to work around Telegram features with more analog methods like taking photos of their screen. because of this, it's important to maintain user privacy as much as possible to avoid any consequences should an unauthorized user view your chat history.

Using Self Destructing Messages

If you want to limit the amount of time someone can access messages, consider using the Self Destruct feature. The Self-Destruct Timer will automatically delete messages after a certain period of time, and can be used for media in private cloud chats and for all your Secret Chats.

You can set this timer by following the steps below:

• Tap the clock icon - on an iPhone you will find this in the input field. On Android it will be in the top bar.

• Choose your desired time limit, after which the message disappears.
